CH-CH-Changes! (turn and face the strange)

Things have definitely been a little bit different here at Proove since we reopened following the national lockdown, but we’re embracing the change and taking all the positives we can!

After a hectic month, supported by the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, here’s what post-lockdown Proove looks like…

We were always incredibly grateful to our teams at Didsbury and Sheffield for their hard work in helping us to adapt during lockdown, making sure we could still spread the word about our delicious pizzas and continue to feed hungry mouths even whilst our restaurants were closed. Our lockdown plan saw pizzas delivered direct to the doors of our customers via Deliveroo or CityGrab, whilst our #TrayADay campaign resulted in over £20,000-worth of pizza goodness being donated to the hungry key workers on the front line.

We were super excited to be welcoming diners back through our doors when restrictions were lifted back in early July, even if things were a little bit out of the ordinary for us at first. In order to ensure all visitors to Proove could feel safe whilst chowing down, we had to make a few changes to the way that we run things, including scrapping paper menus to go digital, removing cutlery from tables, booking a limited number of guests into stricter time slots, and rearranging the tables to allow for social distancing measures to be followed. These changes are still in place, so if you’re thinking of booking to dine with us, consider giving our COVID update a read to make sure you’re in the loop with everything!

We were dead chuffed with the turnout during the first few weeks after reopening, and really grateful to all of our guests for being so understanding and making our job that little bit easier. Then, along came Eat Out to Help Out, and we were overwhelmed with the way the community chose to support our restaurants, helping us to work through one of the busiest months we’ve ever seen!

ALL FOR A GOOD CAUSE…

This month, we’ve also been pleased to team up with local independent curry house, Ashoka, to produce the Taxi Driver Pizza. This delightfully different collaboration saw a combination of two entirely different cuisines, as Ashoka’s famous Taxi Driver Curry met our smoked mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, fresh red onion and authentic Neapolitan pizza dough to deliver a flavour like no other.

Throughout August, we’ve been donating £2.50 from every Taxi Driver Pizza sale to St Luke’s Hospice, and we’re pleased to announce that a grand total of £1172.50 has been raised!

A GREAT BIG WHOPPING ‘THANK YOU’!

So, now you’re all caught up with the post-lockdown goings-on here at Proove! This month has been a busy one, and were so grateful to everyone who has chosen to dine with us, whether that be through a standard booking or with Eat Out to Help Out, and to those who have kicked back at home and ordered our pizzas for delivery. You’ve helped us bounce back into action, and we’d like to say a great big whopping ‘thank you’ for your support!
